Mycopsyco

A field atlas of fungi — hubs, specimens, and essays. Mechanism over myth.

About this journal

Mycopsyco is a field atlas of fungi — written for readers who want the mechanism, not a mascot. The public name is Mycopsyco; the site lives at mycopsycho.com.

The atlas opens through rooms — Science,Foraging,Cultivation, News, andCulture — plus hubs for field basics andcultivation, and concept landings such asmycelium and spores. New readers can take Start here, browse the atlas index, or look up terms in the Glossary.

Mission

Describe what is known, mark what is disputed, and leave out numbers we do not have. Wonder survives a careful trim. What does not survive here: traffic claims, ranked lists, invented quotations, and headlines that skip the distance between a detection and a dose.

Editorial standards

Essays stick to general, checkable mycology. Scientific names are italicized. When a name has moved, we say so. Metaphors are labeled as metaphors. If a claim needs a paper, a specimen, or a sequence, and we do not have it, we do not publish the claim.

Drafts stay out of the production build, the sitemap, and the RSS feed. Each piece is a Markdown file with a category, a date, and a description — details are in the project README.

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you that a wild mushroom is safe to eat. Color, habitat, a phone photograph, and a confident paragraph are not an identification. Poisonous and edible species can share a shape. If that is the question you arrived with, use a proper local flora, or a person who will look at the whole specimen with you.

We will not tell you that a compound found in a fungus is a treatment. A detection is not a dose. We will not invent studies, star ratings, prices, or traffic figures.

Psychedelic discourse — ceremony, recreation, clinical claims about psychoactive fungi — is out of scope for this journal. The boundary is explained inWhy this journal stays clear of psychedelic discourse.

The sister shop

Kinoko Box sells grow-at-home mushroom kits. It is a shop. This is a journal. When an essay is about fruiting, we may link to the shop so a reader can see the life cycle in a kitchen. The card on those pages says that plainly. It does not carry a price, a star rating, or a review.

Ads and the dispatch

A later version may run third-party advertising. Nothing is wired up now. The space reserved for an ad is empty, and no network script is loaded. The email field labeled “The dispatch” is a placeholder. Submitting it does not send your address to a mailing service, and we do not store it.
